Oh CRAAP! I can't tell if this source is trustworthy....
Searching for information can be overwhelming. Part of what makes research challenging is that not all information is reliable or high in quality. When evaluating information (articles, books, websites, blogs, etc.), a researcher should consider the Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose of each source he or she encounters. The CRAAP Test exists to help you identify the integrity of a source.
You have probably heard the word "bias" before, but what exactly does it mean? Bias is unfairly supporting or opposing an idea, perspective, or belief over another, usually due to the influence of personal beliefs or opinions. Contrary information is often obscured, ignored, or minimized. Bias can be both intentional and unintentional.
