Reference Hours
Fall 24'
Librarians will be stationed at the info desk on Level 01 to assist you during these hours.
Monday-Thursday 2:00-4:00 PM
The librarians are here to assist you! Our librarians can provide you with tips on locating and accessing information, citation management, assessing information, or simply helping you get started in your search.
Librarians offer scheduled reference meetings where you are able to receive individualized, or group, one-on-one time to discuss your research needs or questions. Our librarians also provide subject specific Research Guides to get you started on your projects. You can find them here.
Each of our three librarians is partnered with specific departments to ensure further expertise in assistance. You will find information about your subject librarian on this page.
Are you a faculty member who's curious of how our librarians can help?
Our librarians are eager to assist their liaison faculty. Below are main focuses of librarian service regarding faculty:
Class focused on introducing library resources and education of information literacy skills. Our library sessions are linked to the American of College of Research Librarie's (ACRL) six frameworks. Please follow this link to learn more: https://www.ala.org/acrl/standards/ilframework
Librarians are trained in collection curation and work to provide the most appropriate materials for our campus community and curriculum. This includes working together with faculty to ensure resources that are recommended by experts in the field.
Our team is continuously thinking of ways to improve our services; this includes a user friendly interface of our website pages. We are always prepared to answer any questions and guide our community to know how to better use our resources.
Our programs are separated into two categories: Academic Workshops & Student Engagement. The purpose of these events is to offer both supplemental information sessions and provide space for students to engage with their peers and our team in a welcoming space. Our team is always interested in working alongside faculty to create and provide subject specific programs, as well! Please visit our Events & Workshops page to learn more.
The goal of our librarians is to take some of the weight off of faculty. We want to reassure faculty that we are enthusiastic about giving students the research support they need. This could look like visiting the librarians during reference hours or scheduled individualized reference meetings.
Research Guides are a great way to provide students with an outline to approaching research in their subject area. Faculty interested in course specific guides are more than welcome to contact a librarian to discuss content creation!
Our YouTube channel is a great option to find visually displayed information that can support both students and faculty. Here you will find both instructional videos that will help you with topics like "Putting in an ILL Request" or "How to Put a Book on Hold" and introductory videos connecting faces to the services we provide.
