Preceded by senior class books in the 1890s, the Juniata College yearbook was first released in 1915. It was named Alfarata for the Native American women from the popular song "The Blue Juniata", and was a senior project. Over the years the student editorial team that produced the yearbook would become more professional and be structured similar to The Juniatian. The last yearbook was released in 2007.
A typical volume includes pictures of the faculty, staff and students of Juniata College. Many of the volumes also include pictures of big events of the year and pictures of clubs, traditions and activities.
